Note — SDG management systems auditor course · New standard — the auditor course for ISO/UNDP 53001:2026, developed jointly by ISO and UNDP. · Covers how to audit a management system through which an organisation manages selected UN Sustainable Development Goals with performance indicators and demonstrates its contribution. · Training exemption — no organisation can yet run a 20 man-day training course for a new standard. Submit your 53001-related work experience to the certification body; ITS competence criteria and the verifying auditor decide the exemption. · GPC approval is in progress.

New-standard courses — training exemption based on experience and expertise

When a new standard is published, no organisation is yet able to run a 20 man-day auditor training course. ITS therefore verifies each learner's experience and expertise and exempts them from the training course.

  1. 1Submit your work experience related to the standard (42001 · 53001) to the certification body (ITS).
  2. 2It is reviewed against ITS competence criteria for that standard.
  3. 3The verifying auditor's judgement decides final approval.

When you finish

  • · You can sit the ISO Lead Auditor qualification exam.
  • · You meet the requirements to register as an auditor with a certification body.
  • · Meet the requirements and a certificate is issued.
