How the cost is worked out, before you ask for a quotation.
How the fee is calculated
Certification fee = application fee + (audit days MD × daily audit rate) + (number of visits × travel rate) + (nights × accommodation rate)
- The application fee is an administrative charge applied only at the initial certification audit, equal to one MD.
- Audit days (MD) are applied according to the audit-day table for each standard applied for.
- Travel costs are based on the region of the site to be audited.
- The regional travel rate covers one auditor travelling for one day.
- Where an audit runs for two days or more and an overnight stay is required, one travel charge is applied together with accommodation. Accommodation is charged at KRW 100,000 per night.
- For audits outside Korea, other travel and transport expenses are provided by the client organisation.

When an overnight stay is needed (audits of two days or more)
The travel rate is charged once only. On top of that we add KRW 100,000 per night, for as many nights as the audit requires.
For example
A 3 MD audit with one auditortravelling to a site outside the capital region:
- Travel (once, for that region)× 1
- Accommodation (KRW 100,000 × 2 nights)KRW 200,000
※ A three-day audit is charged for two nights.
※ This changes if two or more auditors attend, or if the audit is split across separate visits. The exact amount is set out in your quotation.
- Rates are measured from our head office. Where an auditor based in that region is assigned, the rate is applied in proportion to the distance travelled.
- Audits outside Korea use the Incheon rate; air travel and similar costs are borne by the client organisation at cost.
The above sets out how the fee is arrived at. The actual amount depends on the standards, the number of sites and the number of employees, so we confirm it in a written quotation.
